ReDeads are zombie-like creatures that attack Link on sight. They use a paralyzing shriek to stun Link and grab him, where they then suck the life out of him. They seem to hate light, as whenever it's used on them, they are stunned for a limited amount of time for Link to finish them off. They are considered the scariest enemy known to Zelda fans, from the shriek to the appearance.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time[]
In their debut, Redeads show up in many locations, past and future. In the past, they are found in the bottom of the Royal Family's tomb, in the bottom of the well. In the future, they are found in the Market and the Shadow temple.
Interestingly, once killed, a ReDead will lie on the ground for a short while before dying, and any other ReDeads in the area will walk toward the fallen ReDead kneel, and do what looks like either mourning or eating the deceased. The latter is more likely since the ReDead kneeling will leave the moment their comrade dissappears.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask[]
These Redeads are similar to their previous incarnation, except when Link is wearing one of four masks that stop them from attacking and for 3 of those masks, dance.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker[]
Their appearance has changed drastically, unlike their behavior. They appear in the Earth Temple, along with various minidungeons, notably The savage labyrinth and cabana maze
